Project Title: Collingwood Place

Client: Redrow Homes (South West) Ltd

Description: Refurbishment of 18th Century Hospital into apartments and development of the grounds into a combination of new houses and 4 & 5 storey apartments

Role: Pre-contract Cost Consultants

 

A 230 unit development completed over five phases.  Speed was of the essence, especially for the first two phases, which were constructed using a modular steel frame system.  Key aspects included:

 

• works procured on a trade basis
• thorough understanding of how the modular steel frame construction would impact upon other trades neccessary for placing robust orders
• close work with site manager and tendering contractor during procurement stages

 

During the refurbishment phase, we worked closely with the site manager on project management issues, working out the best approach and using Power Project Teamplan to complete a project programme.  Each trade was provided with its own trade programme against which the process of each trade and the whole works could be monitored.

 

All five phases are now complete, creating an impressive development and transforming the area.
