JMA PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Good Project management is essential to the successful delivery of any development.

Our aim is to bring order to what can be complex working arrangements, whilst carefully administering all aspects of the project.  We will run the project as if it were our own. The Project Managers role often varies in its scope but typically we will:

  • Take an accurate brief and communicate that to the project team. A key activity often underdone.
  • Arrange the appointments of the project team.  We aim to provide a clear framework in which they can excel in their own discipline.
  • Draw up the project programme.
  • Draw up the budget.  The setting of a realistic budget at the earliest opportunity is a key task.  If this is done well the ongoing cost control is straightforward.

  • The listing out and securing of all approvals.  Typically we will break the project into simple stages, securing client approval before moving to the next stage.
  • Instruct and monitor the development of the design.  We will chair and minute regular design team meetings.
  • Arrange the appointment of the main contractor or trade contractors.  We will discuss with you the best way of doing this.
  • Drive and monitor the construction process.  If everything to this point has been done correctly this should be relatively straightforward. We will chair and minute regular progress meetings.
  • Arrange handover of the completed project.  Success.

As part of our Project Management role we will prepare a project plan, a sort of dynamic guide book that helps us and the project team plot our way through the project.  Please contact us if you would like to understand more about this and how we might manage your project.
